Parliament Moves to Provide MMISDC With an Operations Budget

Tuesday, June 2, 2020

At the commissioning of the Machining Manufacturing Industrial Skilling Development Centre at Namanve in January 2020, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development pledged to fund the operationalization of the facility. The pledge has since become a reality as the Parliamentary Budget Commission recommended the release of 10 billion Uganda Shillings to boost operations at the facility.

The facility whose mandate lies in promoting technology development and transfer in Uganda in order to grow the manufacturing sector, has the capacity to skill Ugandans in technology development as well as enable production to meet the needs of a growing industrial sector in the country.
