Today 27th August 2021, Prof. Charles Kwesiga, Executive Director UIRI, hosted Hon. Nyirabashitsi Sarah Mateke, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs accompanied by Hon. Edson Rugumayo (Youth MP Western) and Hon. Okot Boniface (Youth MP Northern) at the UIRI campus’ in Nakawa and Namanve.

Prof. Kwesiga and his Deputy Dr. Dick Kamugasha took the visitors on a guided tour of the institute, showcasing the various opportunities for Youth empowerment.

Some of the areas of interest included food value addition, cosmetics and laundry products production, mushroom production, tailoring and textiles, carpentry and metal fabrication, diagnostics and vaccine production among others.

The Hon. Minister on behalf of the team thanked Prof. Kwesiga for the good work he is doing in empowering the youth and promised to continue supporting the cause of UIRI.
