PROFESSOR CHARLES KWESIGA APPOINTED AS A MEMBER OF UNECA’S ADVISORY COUNCIL ON STI
Prof. Charles Kwesiga the Executive Director Uganda Industrial Research Institute, continues to raise the banner for Industrialisation both nationally and globally. His appointment as a member of the Advisory Council on Science Technology and Innovation (STI) at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) not only gives UIRI’s STI efforts visibility but also acknowledges Prof. Kwesiga’s adroitness.
UNECA is one of the UNs five commissions. Its mandate is to promote the economic and social development of its member states as well as foster intra-regional integration and promote international cooperation for Africa’s development.
The Executive Director has previously served at UNECA as a member of the Advisory Council on Africa Technology Transfer Networks. He has also held notable positions in the Science Technology and Innovation sector among them is the prestige of becoming the first ever African President of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisations from 2014 to 2016.
