UIRI Responds to Non Alcoholic Product Consumers
At the inception of the COVID pandemic emphasis was put on sanitizing and the main products on the market for sanitizing had alcoholic components. Populations with non-alcoholic creeds were left out right at the onset of the COVID pandemic.
However, the Uganda Industrial Research Institute never lost sight of that and conducted a research that would enable the production of an alcohol free sanitizer that given faiths and cultures who do not subscribe to alcohol consumption would use. Under the brand Cov-er San the Institute developed a nonalcoholic sanitizer using water and quaternary ammonium.
The product not only meets the needs of faith and culture based consumers but persons who have alcohol intolerance.
